JOÃO GOMES CRAVINHO APPOINTED HEAD OF THE EU DELEGATION TO BRAZIL

The EUBrasil Association congratulates Ambassador João Cravinho for his new post in Brazil and looks forward to working in close cooperation with the European delegation to increase the level of investment between the European Union (EU) and Brazil, as well as focusing efforts on the digital agenda.

João Gomes Cravinho was appointed to the post of EU Head of Delegation in Brazil and should already start next week. Ambassador Cravinho is currently serving as EU Head of Delegation in India and he is former Secretary of State of Portugal Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

“We need stronger relationships between Brazil and the EU and we are sure that the new Head of the EU delegation in Brazil will add value to the excellent work already begun by the current Ambassador Ana Paula Zacarias. EUBrasil will work in cooperation with the delegation to further boost economic relations, particularly in two areas: investments and digital agenda”, said Luigi Gambardella, president of EUBrasil.

In a statement issued in Brussels, 28/07, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the Commission, announced another 23 appointments of Heads of EU Delegations all around the World. Among the nominations, we also find the name of Fontan Francisco Pardo, appointed ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Fontan was the Deputy head of the EU delegation in Brazil.
