Dealmaking puts Brazil at the centre of the global telecoms war

FT logoThe Financial Times publishes today an article where analysts say that Brazil’s telecoms industry needs to consolidate.

They affirm that consolidation will bring great synergies and help improve the quality of services. However, says the article, before any changes related to the four main operators in the country, the Congress needs to change the General Telecommunication Law. Analysts say that will be no small feat, given that the government is fundamentally opposed to consolidation.
