The European Commission and Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) are holding a training workshop on animal welfare at slaughter from today (18/11) to 21 November, in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The workshop is part of a series of regional seminars on health and animal welfare happening in South America between 2013 and 2016. Other themes include control of animal diseases, highly pathogenic avian flu, organisation of official veterinary services and control of rabies.
The series is part of the Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) initiative from the European Commission’s Director-General of Consumers, Health and Food Executive Agency.
