EUBrasil congratulates Jean-Claude Juncker for his nomination as European Commission president

EUBrasil Association, the largest EU-Brazil networking platform in Europe, warmly congratulates Jean-Claude Juncker for his nomination as the next European Commission’s president. Jean-Claude Juncker, former Luxembourg Prime Minister, has been nominated by the European Council in a meeting in Brussels this Friday (June 27). EUBrasil is confident that this new phase in European leadership will be a contribution to the deepening of the economic and political integration of the European Union.

Luigi Gambardella, president of EUBrasil, says “with Juncker nomination we see a further boost to the economic and political relations between the EU and Brazil”. We are confident that Juncker’s nomination will contribute to the success of the negotiations for a free trade agreement between Mercosur and the EU.

“Juncker can count on the continued commitment of EUBrasil to work side by side to overcome the challenges in order to strengthen the dialogue between both global partners. We wish him every success throughout his mandate”, added Gambardella.
